Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. Martin Trautz is Head of the Chair for Structures and Structural Design at the Faculty of Architecture at Aachen University (RWTH Aachen) in Germany. He also heads his own engineering consulting practice in Frankfurt/Main and Aachen. Professor Trautz earned his Ph.D. from Stuttgart University and has worked with many of the individuals mentioned in this article. He may be reached at trautz@trako.arch.rwth-aachen.de.
